BREAKING: Emails Confirm Hunter Biden Helped Shut Down Criminal Probe Of Burisma / Mitch McConnell Medical Episode?
A collection of emails recently uncovered by the Daily Mail provides confirmation that Hunter Biden played a pivotal role in halting an investigation by a Ukrainian prosecutor into Burisma Holdings. The company had enlisted Hunter to leverage his political influence and familial connections to deflect scrutiny from its business practices.
The emails retrieved from Hunter's discarded laptop reveal that President Joe Biden's son offered suggestions on how Burisma executives could terminate a joint U.S.-U.K. investigation into alleged corruption instances involving the company in its home country, Ukraine. Viktor Shokin, a former prominent prosecutor for Ukraine's government, was dismissed in 2016 before he could finalize his inquiry.
According to the emails, Burisma executive Vadym Pozharsky reached out to Hunter using his personal Gmail account, requesting him to employ his "influence to convey a message / signal, etc to stop what we consider to be politically motivated actions." Pozharsky contended that the company was a victim of blackmail.
During this correspondence, Pozharsky was under investigation by the U.S. and U.K. regarding potential money laundering and directing government contracts to his own gas companies while serving as the Ukrainian environmental minister.
Hunter responded that it would be beneficial to gain insights into the staff within the Ukrainian prosecutor's office, identifying who was leading the restructuring and the individuals under consideration for those roles.
Heather King, a partner at Hunter's law firm Boies, Schiller, & Flexner, concurred, stating that this was part of what their human intelligence sources were attempting to discover.
Shokin, who only took over the local investigation in 2015, came in after Zlochevsky allegedly paid $7 million in bribes to Ukrainian justice officials to obstruct the inquiry, according to a former U.S. diplomat who testified before Congress.
Upon his appointment, Shokin accelerated the investigation, even taking legal action against a staff member he accused of sabotaging the office's probe into Burisma's money laundering scheme. It was during this period, as indicated by the emails, that Hunter connected his company with Blue Star Strategies, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm that advocated for Burisma with officials from the Obama State Department.
In an email to Hunter, Pozharsky expressed hope that Blue Star's work would "close down for any cases/pursuits against [Zlochevsky] in Ukraine."
Hunter's response on November 5, 2015, reflected his comfort with Blue Star, stating that he and Devon (presumably Devon Archer, his business partner) felt confident in the firm's capability to deliver.
Notably, Pozharsky was concerned about the need for Blue Star to register as a foreign agent, potentially compromising their ability to negotiate with U.S. officials. Hunter's business partner assured him that such a designation could be avoided.
House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) has been at the forefront of House Republicans' efforts to link President Biden to his son's business dealings, which have culminated in a failed plea deal related to tax evasion for income generated from overseas companies like Burisma. Despite significant earnings from these arrangements for members of his family, the president has vehemently denied any awareness or involvement in these endeavors.
